White & Gold Pleated Skirt w/ Organdy Blouse for Cissy Doll
Welcome!
Newly created fashion for your vintage Cissy doll! Great outfit for holidays and all occasions! Most of the fabrics are vintage as well as the snap, lace and studs!. The lovely skirt fabric is a crisp clean cotton with an off white background and muted gold metallic print. It is mid-century (width is 34” dating it 1930’s-50’s). The blouse organdy fabric is also mid-century (width is 38”. For fabric dating see my ‘about me” page!)
Skirt has double box pleats, sewn in waistband, closes in back with single vintage square snap (I nabbed a large box of vintage snaps I’ll be using for a good long while!). For pleated skirts I do a 1” hem. It is a hand sewn blind hem. Skirt is about 7-1/2 in length. It displays great without a slip. (Or you can give it a bit of flare like in last pic # 8 . I just put a little of the white wrapping gift tissue I use to pack with under, wad it up and tuck it in). The blouse is made from a pattern of Cissy’s original sleeveless organdy blouse. Made with vintage soft white organdy. It has an attached silk taffeta camisole underneath that has picot trim (the silk and trim are new, not vintage) It has a little collar that can be worn turned down like in pic or stand it up. It has old lace edging at arms, vintage pearlized nail studs along front, closes in back with 4 vintage snaps ( with blouses I add a bottom snap at the end so it does not separate when working to tuck in and adjust) The gold makes it a great fashion for holidays, but not so fancy that it can be a go to for a nice afternoon lunch!
Thank you for visiting!
