Newly created sun dress for your vintage Cissy doll. It is made to resemble one of Cissy’s early sun dresses. It is made with vintage polished cotton The fabric has floral print of rosebuds and petunias? on an ivory background. Also is a very faint gold geometric pattern behind it all. It is a lovely old fabric that is clean with bright colors. It’s medium weight and stiff!! Maybe more of a chintz fabric. It has a lovely medium sheen.
Construction of dress is made similar to early sun dresses. Sleeveless bodice has a round neck, it is lined with white swiss cotton organdy. Arm holes are edged with french val lace. It closes in back with 4 square snaps that are accented with pearl buttons. Skirt is a generous 53” around with a 2” hand sewn blind hem.
I always like to show contrast of slip underneath vs. no slip. To bring out fullness of skirt a full slip is needed. It is shown with a slip in all photos except last # 8 it is shown without a slip. Slip is not included. For a super generous flare I also add puffed white gift tissue under the slip. (You can use the tissue I pack with- it is safe for the doll and long term storage, as I use a non-acidic food grade white baker’s tissue)
