Newly created dress for your vintage Cissy doll! This is a “repro” of her 1958 Solid Taffeta cocktail dress. I did change the fabric to a navy blue silk shantung instead of taffeta. Reference book notes this came in green, light blue, navy blue and lavender taffeta. Note the silk I used is a medium weight stiff shantung!
Dress bodice is lined with vintage navy blue cotton organdy. Elbow length sleeves have cuffs. (My sleeves should be aout 3/4” longer!) It has a white grosgrain bow accent. It closes in back with 4 square vintage snaps, I accented them with pearl buttons. The skirt is about 53” around with a 2” hand sewn blind hem. It is very stiff and I am showing it without a slip.
**Couple notes!! My photography skills are not picking up the color exactly! The color leans a just a tad more royal than dark dusky/steel? Also while the silk does have sheen, it is not as “shiny” as the flash makes it appear.
