This is a newly made reproduction of Cissy’s 1957 “Box Pleat” fashion. It was made with lavender taffeta, and a rare version was made in red taffeta. This one is made with crisp/ stiff acetate taffeta in an orchid shade.
It is made from a pattern of Cissy’s original fashion. It came with either a sleeveless bodice or with cap sleeves. This one is sleeveless. Bodice is lined with pink swiss cotton organdy. Little fabric linen flowers accent the V neck bodice. Closes in back with 4 square snaps. The original has double box pleats, (The original has triple box pleats) ( I leave the pleats in crisp form. I think some may relax out the pleats). The skirt is about 8” in length and has a 1” hand sewn blind hem (when doing pleated skirts I shorten the hem from 2” to 1”). Looks nice with and without a slip. It is shown without, The bolero is made from a pattern of Cissy’s original.
