Newly made gown for Cissy. This is a repro of Cissy’s 1956 “Black Torso” gown recreated in green velvet. It is accented with red and white florals- perfect and made with Christmas in mind!
Gown bodice shell is made with forest green cotton velveteen. It is fully lined with white silk taffeta. Bra is made with the white silk taffeta. Inner skirt is made with an iridescent shimmer green silk taffeta. Skirt has overlay of double stacked green tulle. Closes in back with zipper. Red velvet rose and red berry sitting on a white velvet leaf accents the shoulder. A corsage of red and white velvet roses sitting on white velvet leaves at skirt seam. A cute tiny pine cone and berry accent the corsage!
Notes!! READ! In my opinion the shoulder area of this dress and the sleeve facings turn out a big. The sleeve facings want to slide down off the shoulder, however once pulled up and adjusted displays fine. Also I shortened a bit so it does not drag on ground (see photo #13) I will be creating a red version of this dress this Holiday season to! Example last photo!
