Newly created fashion for your vintage Cissy doll! This is based on a pattern of her 1955 plaid dress and purse. I do make a minor change in construction and that will be noted in listing. Her originals are found (so far) in 2 different red theme plaids as noted in reference books. I made this one with a lovely pastel plaid. Fabric is a very lightweight cotton. (I will be doing this in reds and other colors. Hoping to work in doing it in holiday colors!)
Dress bodice is lined with white cotton muslin. It has cap sleeves. White cotton pilgrim collar edged with cotton trim of little circles (closest I could come to Cissy’s original circles in circles trim!) It has scattered Swarovski rhinestones on front bodice. It closes in back with 5 square snaps. The skirt is about 58” around with a handsewn hem. Skirt has a few scattered rhinestones. Comes with matching drawstring purse!
Notes - *Please Read* On the original dress Madame left the neckline/collar edges raw and turned under. I changed mine to incorporate into lining like all other dresses. (I don’t like raw edges). I am not sure why this dress was done this way. I show difference in photo #11.
As always I like to show the contrast of having a petticoat/slip underneath compared to not having one. To bring out fullness of skirt a full slip is needed. It is shown with a slip in all photos except last #11 , it is shown without a slip. Slip is not included.
