A newly made sun dress for your vintage Cissy doll. A repro of her 1957 purple rosebud sun dress. The purple rosebud fabric is vintage from the mid-century era (width is 36” wide dating it 1940’s-50’s). It is a smooth (almost has a light polish to it) cotton with nice hand. It is clean with bright colors (unwashed-the way I prefer my vintage cotton!)
Sleeveless dress bodice is lined with vintage cotton organdy (organdy is 35” wide dating it mid-century). The arms and neckline have val lace accent. The lace is older and has become a soft white (hard for me to date the lace, but it is not a newer lace). Purple rick rack accents neckline. It closes in back with 4 square vintage snaps. I accented the snaps with little pearl buttons. A purple satin ribbon sash is gathered at front darts, and I also gathered at side seams. The skirt is a generous 60” around. It is accented with 3 rows of purple cotton rick rack. Included is a single strand pearl necklace. It is made with glass pearl beads and has magnetic closure.
To bring out fullness of skirt a full slip is needed. It is shown with a slip in all photos except last #9 -it is shown without a slip. Slip is not included. For a super generous flare I also add puffed white gift tissue under the slip. (You can use the tissue I pack with- it is safe for the doll and long term storage, as I use a non-acidic food grade white baker’s tissue)
