A newly created fashion for your vintage Cissy doll. I often search and admire mid-century fashions and styles. I came across an elegant black and white mid-century cocktail dress I thought would be great for Cissy. A photo of the original dress that inspired this creation for Cissy is pictured, see last photo (#14)! So I went about making a pattern of it for Cissy. The result is this lovely dress! On this one I altered the neck from square to a high round neckline. It has a black velvet sleeveless bodice, lined with black cotton organdy, it closes in back with 4 square snaps accented with pearl buttons. It has a flowing skirt made with semi-sheer white chiffon . It has an attached black grosgrain waistband, and boxy style bow with long streamers. Comes with a detachable slip that has a waistband and snaps in back. Also comes with panties. To keep the chill away from her shoulders it comes with a genuine white fur (not sure what type, rabbit I think). The fur is a simple strand, about 2”” inches wide. Fur is attached to a plain white woven cotton. I did not line it. Simple but a pretty display! To complete the retro look it comes with a classic double strand pearl necklace. Made with glass beads and has magnetic closure.
I do have a black velvet swing coat planned that will coordinate nicely with this dress. Also I have more of these dresses planned for the holidays in various velvet bodice colors with both square and round necklines.
